KS4 is a challenging year for students, who are learning to deal with exam anxiety and coursework deadlines, and an intimidating amount of course content. It can also be an exciting time when students find their critical voice, gain the confidence to express their ideas with clarity and precision, and mature as readers and thinkers.
I can focus on English Literature or on English Language in my lessons, or cover both, in my sessions on:

Novels (e.g. A Christmas Carol, The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Lord of the Flies
Drama (e.g. Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, An Inspector Calls)
Poetry (e.g. Power and Conflict anthology, Love and Relationships anthology, Songs of Ourselves anthology)
Unseen Poetry

The English Language exam comprises:
reading unseen or pre-taught non-fiction
reading unseen or pre-taught fiction
Creative/descriptive/narrative writing
Non-fiction writing (e.g. to persuade, advise, review)
with some exam boards, a spoken language assessment
I offer KS4 Pre-tutoring assessment package (p.o.r):
Pre-assessment interviews with parents and student
In-depth analysis of written work, school assessments and school reports
Follow up online meeting to discuss findings
Full written report with an assessment of your child’s levels, as well as recommendations for the next steps
Lessons are £80 per hour
